Crater Lake, Oregon June 2014

Crater Lake is a worthwhile detour on the way to Ashland. The drive to it is beautiful, of course, but the lake is truly spectacular. Since only rain and snowmelt feed the lake, the waters are clear and blue. A deep blue - a verging-on-Greece-blue kind of blue. There was still snow on the surrounding landscapes.

Sadly, I only had my old point and shoot camera, so I could only get small pieces of the lake. My beloved wide angle lens would have come in handy here.

An interesting view of Wizard Island.

Silly humans. Anything for a good selfie.

.             I've never had bloodier, more painful blisters. JC walked my ass off....but then he let me borrow his shoes until I could buy new ones. The girl at the store laughed when she saw my three pairs of socks and man shoes. And then I had NEW shoes - well worth every ruble.              .
